The city is gearing up for our big annual St. Patty's weekend and everyone was decked out in their green. The city had just started greening the fountains in downtown Savannah.
This was the beginning of a super busy weekend for me. I was prepping for mine and Michael's 15th anniversary party the next day, my roof was being replaced, and not to mention the Palmetto Bluff half marathon on Sunday. Oy! It must've been all on my mind because I left the house without my race bib so I had to turn around for it. Parking was hard to find and I left my Garmin at home! At least I had my phone so that I could use my Nike running app.
With all the rain, the temperature was cool. I couldn't even show off my new St. Patty's running shirt I got from Fleet Feet since I had to wear my half zip! While gathering at the start line, I saw Father O'Brien ready to see us off for the race! He married Michael and I 15 years ago!
This race is always super crowded and it's always a good time. I ran it with Larry and once we snaked our way through the crowd, we were able to make some pretty good time. This was definitely a 5K PR for me! I finished it in 26:36:59! Now - bring on the beer! Party next day and Palmetto Bluff half coming up!
